A resignation letter alone doesn’t end a directorship in the eyes of the Registrar. We file DIR-12 for the company and DIR-11 for the director, so the exit is complete on both sides.
Until DIR-12 is filed, the MCA register still shows the outgoing director on the board — which means they can still be treated as an officer in default for filings made after they left.
